Debris Clean Up Efforts in Brunswick

The City of Brunswick Public Works crews and Fire personnel have worked diligently to clear roadways of fallen limbs and trees and address urgent safety concerns.  In the coming weeks Debris clean-up will be conducted by contracted teams throughout the City.  Ceres is the city’s debris removal contractor.  EMC is the monitoring contractor.

Removal for City Debris will begin on Monday, October 7th.  The contractor will conduct two passes for organic yard debris and one pass for construction and demolition (C&D).  All pick-ups will be monitored.  Non-storm related items will not be picked up.  Call City customer service for bulk pickup of other items.

Items cannot be co-mingled.  Please keep yard debris and other items separate.  The items are taken to separate disposal sites and cannot be co-mingled.

Only storm related debris and C&D is eligible for removal; the debris should not be bagged, and it should not be mixed with other garbage or yard waste: if you are cleaning up your yard, please separate debris into piles, no bags, only organic materials, do not block right of ways, put at curb.

To facilitate an efficient clean-up process, citizens are kindly asked to follow these guidelines:

  • Place debris at the curb, within the right of way
  • Do not place debris near mailboxes, water meters, or fencing
  • Do not place debris piles near power lines pr overhanging trees
  • Do not place piles near parked cars, fire hydrants or poles.

Please note that the machinery used to pick up debris is large and require clear access.  Obstructed piles may cause delays and could result in items not being picked up.

Normal schedules will be maintained for trash and recycling pickup.

Thank you for your cooperation and understanding as we work to restore our community.
